About Me

Hi, I’m Chuy (Jesus Salcedo Jr.), a product experience leader who makes complex, data heavy software feel simple, useful, and a little more human. I build teams, systems, and habits that turn research into roadmaps and prototypes into shipped outcomes.

Over the last decade, I have led UX across multi product enterprise platforms, standing up customer research programs, running open design reviews, and partnering closely with Product and Engineering to plan well and hit outcomes. I am equal parts coach and system architect: I love mentoring designers and design managers, and I love putting down the rails that help great work happen faster: design tokens, component libraries, decision playbooks, and operating rituals that actually stick.

I am known for platform level coherence. I have led cross product harmonization after acquisitions and evolved component strategies, from React libraries to Web Components, so experiences look and behave like one product, not a patchwork. I care about details, from typography and flows to the mental models that guide them, because the details teach users what to expect.

AI is a natural part of how I work. I use it to widen the exploration space, sharpen specs, and shorten the path from idea to code, always with human judgment, accessibility, and quality as non negotiables. Speed matters, and so does taste.

My leadership style is compassionate accountability. Clear standards, generous feedback, and a culture where people can do the best work of their careers. I am happiest when I am facilitating a crisp decision, unblocking a team, or turning messy constraints into a plan we are excited to ship.

If you are building something ambitious, and you want it to feel coherent, considered, and genuinely helpful, I would love to talk.

My Values

Lead with user insight, not pixels.
I put real customers in the (virtual) room—live interviews, discovery sessions, surveys before the first line or layer is drawn. Hearing their struggles and successes firsthand grounds every roadmap decision in evidence, trims guesswork, and slashes rework. The result? Features that launch faster, resonate immediately, and keep both retention and revenue heading north.

Grow people to grow outcomes.
I treat team development as a product in its own right; complete with vision, roadmap, and measurable impact. That means coaching, clear growth ladders, and room to experiment without fear of failure. When designers feel supported and stretched, velocity jumps, cross-functional trust tightens, and the products we ship don’t just look good—they move the revenue needle.

Measure success in business impact, not mock-ups.
I'm drawn to beautiful UIs, but I judge success by the hard numbers behind them. Every initiative—whether it’s slashing 55 k lines of brittle front-end code, bumping demo win-rates with a unified component library, or doubling feature adoption through a friction-free flow—carries a clear KPI. By tying design decisions to revenue, retention, and release velocity, I make sure the pixels we polish translate directly into measurable gains for the business.
